Employer Sanctions Law

The new Employer Sanctions law (Laws 2007, Chapter 279) requires all employers in the state, including cities and towns, to verify the immigration status of all new hires starting January 1, 2008.

The law requires that every employer shall post a notice in an area visible to prospective employees that it is an Employment Eligibility Verification (EEV) participant.
