Business Licenses
Any business or individual seeking to transact business within the City of Avondale is required to obtain a Transaction Privilege Tax/Business License prior to transacting business. An application (see link below) must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office along with a $25.00 non-refundable processing fee and a $40.00 annual fee. A license is required for each business location and for each business at a single location. The license fee is assessed for the period of January 1 through December 31 with no prorating. 

All Privilege Tax/Business licenses expire on December 31 of each year. A renewal fee of $40 is due and payable on January 1st and will be considered delinquent if not received on or before the last business day of January.

Peddler’s License
In addition to a business license, any individual or business hiring people to go door to door to promote that individuals cause must obtain a Peddlers/ Solicitors/ Cavassers Permit for each individual. While there is no fee for this license, a fingerprinting fee of $15.00 due to the Police Department for each person being permitted, and a $5.00 (business check or money order) charge for the Department of Public Safety to process individual background information. Liquor Licenses
Chapter 13, Article IV of the Avondale Municipal Code stipulates that any establishment seeking to sell, manufacture or serve alcoholic beverages must obtain a City-issued liquor license.

Anybody interested in obtaining a license must first contact the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control to initiate the process. The Liquor Board will forward the application to the City for further processing. Upon receiving the application from the State, City staff will contact the applicant regarding fees and further processing requirements.

Special Event Business License
This license is available only for events sponsored by a nonprofit organization. Vendors may obtain this license for a maximum of three days at a charge of $15.00 per day.

Special Event Permit
A special event permit is required for any events to be held in private or public property that will require one or more city services. The approval process must be initiated 60 days prior to the event. A processing fee will apply as well as fees for services to be provided.
